Wag More Worry Less!!

My name is Rachel Raine. I’m the founding director of “Poochie” here in Nelson, New Zealand. I know the pleasure, companionship and joy our wee pooches give us.

Rata my wonderful Shih Tzu-Poodle inspired me to start this small business, with the vision and aim of providing the highest quality of personalised care to a limited clientele of only six small Pooches per day in my wonderful home on the sunny sea breeze slopes of the Tahunanui hills.

Poochie franchise opportunities available in New Zealand areas. Please contact for details.

DAY CARE

DAY CARE

Day care is $49 dollars a day and includes walking. The first introductory day is only $29. Over night stays are also available. Generous discounts are offered for more than one day or if you have more than one dog.

Poochie is open from 7.30am onwards for drop offs. Pick ups are available on request. After the morning walk there is a free time where they can have a rest around the home and a morning snack. Please bring their own favourite basket or blanket for the day. Familiar things settle them as they feel a sense of your presence.

  • Lunch is provided around 12pm Normally clients supply a lunch unless alternative arrangements are made.

  • After lunch there is a general play time where I like to interact with them all and play.

  • The afternoon walk happens around 3pm. After that it’s back home again. for some quiet and free time. Generally they all like a snooze while I play some nice music and give them some more attention and love.

  • Pick up is from 4-5.30. Drop offs by arrangement are after 5.30. There is an extra charge for drop off’s and pick ups depending on the distance.

WALK

WALK

Walks occur twice daily and are free for Day Care clients. Single dog walking services incur a charge of $25 per dog (discount for more than one) and pick up is available at an extra charge depending on distance.

For Day Care clients the morning walk is around 45 minutes and normally occurs off location and involves a car ride to one of my favourite locations including streams, native bush and parks where they can have a free run once I am sure they have developed a good relationship with myself and their furry friends. The afternoon walk is shorter around 30 minutes and is from home.

SPA

SPA

I normally only do a few spas a day in the afternoon. Spa’s include a good brush for hair removal and gentle skin massage as well as a warm bath with essential organic doggie shampoos. I sometimes do small trims if needed to remove hair from around eyes etc. I also do a coat teeth and paw inspection and bring to your attention anything requiring further attention or treatment. Please enquire if you require this service.

I find it hard to travel and certainly am unable to walk far these days. Rachel picks up Annie twice weekly, it’s one thing i love to do for her. Annie sits by the door expectantly and when she heres Rachels car she goes crackers! It brings me great joy to know Annie still has a great quality of life, even tho my own capabilities these days are limited

Jane in Tahuna

My Lucy and Rata love their days and outings with Rachel at Poochie. Rachel sends me videos and photos of the fun times they are having. They certainly love their Fridays!
